Building A New Audience And Event From The Ground Up

The Challenge

Jennifer, a talented artist, had just left her corporate job to pursue her art full-time. She was eager to grow her business but was new to Philadelphia and didn’t have experience in marketing. She was looking for a way to connect with her new community and build an audience in an authentic way, but felt unsure of where to start with event planning and marketing.

The Solution

We started our partnership by looking for an idea that would combine her passions for art, teaching, and community building. We landed on a "Queer Art Retreat" that would provide a creative pause during Pride.

Knowing that her audience needed a personal connection to her as a creator, we decided on a highly personalized marketing approach. We project-managed the entire event, from planning and venue research to creating email templates and a full marketing timeline. To make it easier for her to host future events, we also created spreadsheets of potential locations and partners, and email templates that she could reuse.

The Result

The event was a beautiful success, attracting attendees who all reported a positive experience. They especially enjoyed connecting with Jennifer, learning from her unique perspective on art, and finding a supportive space for mental health and creativity. The event helped Jennifer make a meaningful connection with her new community and gave her the confidence to plan future gatherings.

“Working with Nox was refreshing, organized, insightful, and such a support in shaping a workshop tailored for casual crafters. Their guidance kept me on track and brought new perspectives to the process. I’d be more than happy to work with them again.”
